We run a variety of day care programs, from full-day childcare for toddlers and preschoolers to before- and after-school care for children up to the age of 12.

Arrival & Departure Policy

The children’s safety is our number one concern, and as such we have a strict drop off/pick up procedure. The children must be escorted directly to their child’s teacher. Only the people listed on the Enrollment Package under “Persons Authorized to Pick up Child” will be allowed to pick up the child. Communication of absences, late arrivals, and any additional communications can be made directly with your child’s teacher by phone or email.

Fee Policies and Procedures

  • Keelmount Day Care Centre enforces the following policies and procedures for tuition payments:

    • Full-time tuition is automatically deducted on the 1st of the month. Parents and Guardians must provide Keelmount Day Care a void cheque.

    • There will be a $5.00 charge per child after 6:01 and before 6:05pm the fee will be $5.00.

    • Every minute after 6:05pm will be charged $1.00 per minute.

    • All tuition is due regardless of sickness, behavioral/disciplinary removal, vacations, weather-related closings or holidays (including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Snow days, and Spring Break).

    • If you need to terminate your child’s enrollment, a two-week notice is to be given to the daycare director; otherwise you will continue to be charged your monthly tuition. (No reimbursement of tuition will be granted).

    • It is understood that there will be an annual increase each January at the start of the fiscal year.

    • Fees remain at the rate charged for each of the classrooms until children are moved up to the next classroom. Every effort will be made to move children at the required time; however, space needs to be available in the next classroom.

Meals & Snacks

  • • PLEASE NOTE: Keelmount Day Care Centre is a Peanut and Nut free facility. No candies or other foods are allowed in the rooms, except those that are not part of the “Daily Hot Lunches” program.

    • All “Daily Hot Lunches” and snacks meet Public Health requirements for food handling and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.

    • Daily Hot Lunches and snacks (morning and afternoon) are provided by a catering company that adheres to the above as well as some snacks being provided by Keelmount.

    • Children’s dietary needs and allergies are posted in the Kitchen and the child’s classroom.

    • Weekly menus are posted for the current and the following week to help parents in planning meals at home.

    • If your child requires a special dietary and feeding arrangements, it must be made in writing to Keelmount Day Care Centre’s management team. 
Please include the following:

    1. Whether the parent/guardian will be providing all between-meal snacks for the child or if the child may choose a snack offered by the Centre.

    2. Acknowledgment that the parent/guardian will provide a list of all ingredients to help ensure that allergens are not brought into the child care centre. If the list of ingredients is not provided, the food will not be accepted or given to the child.

    3. Whether Keelmount Day Care Centre is allowed to offer drinks, other than water to the child.

    4. Parents/guardians must provide an arrangement plan if the lunch or snack from home is forgotten.

    • Parents/guardians are responsible to label food brought to the child care centre with the child’s full name and the date the food arrived at the child care centre, and that parents advise of all ingredients.

    • Parents must inform Keelmount Day Care Centre when there are any changes to the written instructions. (All written instructions will be posted and shared with the staff.)
